How We Roll
Choice of Mains/Recruiting for Your Class Spec

We will get your main and your spec geared for the benefit of the guild’s progression. If you chose to not raid with the toon on the spec and main that you were recruited for, there are no other positions available for you in the raid group and you will go back to Raid Recruit. We can take your alt if it is geared for the content we are currently on and there is a position that opens up.

Ranks

Every person in Apocalypse has been reset to the introductory rank in the guild, Member. It’s a new expansion and EVERYONE has a chance to prove themselves and that they deserve a spot in our 25-man raids. The rank system is re-designed to actually MEAN something and puts the onus on YOU to be invited to raids. If you do not meet these requirements, you will stay at Member or Raid Recruit and you will not be invited for raids. Moreover, we will open up recruiting for the classes/specs we need that are not Raider or higher. If you aren’t putting in your best, we’ll find someone who can.

Rank 1: Member
A Member is anyone who wants to join in guild chatter and get into groups and 10-mans with other Apoc members. Members have limited access to the Guild Bank and are not invited to raids. We realize that WotLK gives a unique opportunity for casuals to raid and we will encourage a Member-only 10 man regular group to be set up for this purpose. In the future, they may have their own rank so as to access specific guild bank tabs for 10 man purposes. These tabs will be filled with old mammoth and bad clams.

Rank 2: Raid Recruit

A Raid Recruit is someone who has read and understands what Apoc progression is all about and wants to jump on the bandwagon for rapid success and purple drops. You must be registered on the website and we encourage forum participation. You also must demonstrate ability to perform in a raid setting with minimal hand holding. Raid recruits are required to be on vent listening to raids and will garner DKP. All raiding rules that apply to Raiders also apply to Raid Recruits. Raid Recruits are free to spend DKP according to DKP rules on the same level that Raiders can.

Raid Recruits are going to be taken to raids but will be the first to be switched out for fights and sit on wait lists. Each time you come into a raid you are INTERVIEWING for a job. If we want to “hire” you, it’s based on what YOU do.

AT THIS POINT THERE IS AN OPTION. Either:
1) You will follow the rules, perform at a high standard and be promoted to Raider
Or
2) You will fail to follow the rules, be late, not take raiding seriously, be unprepared, arrive flacid, or blow up the raid. At this time you will be demoted to Member. If you seriously want to raid and feel you can do better, please make an appointment to speak with the Raid Leader about apping again as a Raid Recruit after the reset.

Every person will sit as a Raid Recruit for a minimum of two weeks and can stay as a Raid Recruit for as long as it takes to be moved either up or down.

Rank 3: Raider

Raiders maintain 80% attendance (over 1 month) or better and follow all Apoc raiding rules. People with Raider status will have a 90% chance to be guaranteed a raiding spot and will have access to the guild bank and guild repair funds for the evening’s raiding. (The other 10% is for raiding recruits we would like to try out on a short term basis).

Rank 4: Hawt Stuff

This is the “Super Raider” rank. If you have this rank, you
1) Maintain 95% attendance (and yes, this is general.. we understand vacations and do not penalize)
2) Function at a VERY HIGH level of play
3) Are fully buffed and well read about fights prior to the encounter
4) Intimately know your class/spec. You keep up on changes in game and patch notes.
5) Contribute to the guild welfare (E.G. Helping other players, Farming mats for guild bank/resist sets/pots/food, helping with Recruitment posts or DKP, “fixing” lesser experienced players by talking to them about their class/gear/rotation, stopping people from being hurtful to each other.)

The benefits of being Hawt Stuff
1) Guaranteed 100% invite every night to raids
2) Have additional withdraw privileges in the guild bank (repair cash and priority on items, etc)
3) Will be looked at first for legendary item drops

Preparation and Attendance

Apoc Raiders will be fully buffed with flasks or elixers AND a food buff for every progression fight and current content that is not completely on farm. Not doing so repeatedly throws your rank back.

Raider Expectations

At least 80% attendance and on time is expected. At 6:45 you should be out of group and traveling toward the summoning stone. No one is special or gets to finish their last arena. No one even thinks about being pvp specced. Invites happen at 6:50p.

No more than 5 minute AFKS and only during trash. ZERO afks during boss explanations.

If you have a suggestion or complaint with the strategy, you are welcome to post it on the website after the raid or talk to an officer at some other time. The raid is not an appropriate forum for describing your own personal theory/strat/what you did in some other guild 2 years ago.

You are expected to know the fight and reasonably what’s up next prior to entering the raid instance. You should be able to execute a strategy with minimal explanation about where to stand and what to dispel, etc.

You need to be able to stay up past your bedtime without bitching. If we are close to killing a boss, we might extend raid time within reasonable limits.

If you have to leave prior to the end of the raid, you MUST inform the raid leader prior to invite. If you have Raider status and we expect you to be there, you MUST use the shout box or send an in-game mail to the raid leader that you will be missing the night prior to the raid or your rank will be decreased.

PLEASE keep vent spam to a minimum. It's cool to laugh and joke but losing focus is a setback to progression. Talking about non-raid-related stuff when we are anywhere close to a boss is very frowned upon, and you will be spanked.

DKP Loot System
10 Man
There is no DKP system for 10 Mans. The raid leader is on his/her own on how they will distribute loot. We prefer and STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you take a guildy (or a recruit that may join) over someone not in the guild. If you don’t, you are a douchebag.

25 Man
1. Points are awarded as follows:
10 points for a farmed boss kill
20 points for a first kill
No points for time spent on trash content up til farmed bosses
1.5 points per hour for trash content and working on progression kills
No points, or half points (5), awarded for boss kills that are really old
No points after the first few clears are awarded for Naxx Minibosses

2. Points are capped at 1000 and will decay after time (as soon as we figure out how to automate it)

3. There is a dkp add on that's really simple that every raider uses that displays the DKP for a given drop. Basically, it's a multiplier of the item level. It will be available shortly.

4. You can only go into negative DKP if the item goes to a 25% roll. Otherwise, you don't have the DKP then you can't bid at 100%.

5. If you have not accumulated any DKP for 30 days, then your DKP disappears. That's right. Zero. Very few exceptions will be made and it requires long standing with Apoc.

6. All raiders on wait list and ON VENT with us get the same DKP accumulation as everyone else in the raid. *Not being available when needed without telling the raid leader/officer/etc about an AFK will be a forfeit of DKP for the night.

HERES HOW IT WORKS:
1. An item drops and we look at the DKP list. Whoever has the most and wants the item, gets it. If for some reason there's a tie, those two people do a roll. The DKP in your add on is then subtracted from your current DKP.

2. If NO ONE wants an item, we offer the item to the raid at 25% BUT it's a full on roll (that is, it's not top DKP anymore, it's whoever wins the roll). The person who rolls the highest MUST take the item for 25% DKP value.

3. If no one still wants the item, we D/E it. OR... the raid leader plays Santa Clause and gives it as an off set item to someone for free. DO NOT COUNT ON THIS... the item in most cases is D/E'd, especially if people are perceived to have not rolled in hopes of defaulting an item. Main specs will never get gear like this. It's an off spec kinda gig.

4. RARE LOOT (ie: phoenix mount): Goes to a raid roll BUT only the people with 80% or higher attendance over the last 60 days may roll.

5. LEGENDARY ITEMS: are predetermined by the officers as to who gets what based on a number of factors including skill, attendance, and what’s been put in to the guild by that member (See Guild Rank: Hawt Stuff). DKP for the item will still be charged at 100% of its full value.

Wait Lists

Must have toon geared to similar content we are doing. We will not carry you because you have not done the work. You can wait list by sending a tell to the raid leader.

You MUST:
1) Be in vent the entire time in the channel we are raiding
2) May be on an alt ready to switch over within 2 minutes of request
3) Alert raid leader for any afks
4) Have knowledge of the fight enough to be placed with limited explanation and perform well.
5) If you leave before the end of the raid, you must tell the raid leader or you forfeit 100% of your DKP for the evening.

A FEW SIDE NOTES ON DKP:

A DKP system is a living thing and it may not always be perfect. There will be times where an overhaul in item cost will occur. This does not mean that we will go back and re-charge the lower cost for items you have already paid for. Be happy you got them first.

On the same token, some items in early raids will be given away for free while we work out the kinks. Lucky you! If you were unlucky, bitch at Miru. He likes when people complain, and he'll hook you up with free DKP. I promise.

In the end, the Raid Leader will make final calls on all circumstantial things... that is, whether to make the player spend DKP or to discount an item.
